April 15, 2010
The boys are 23 months as of yesterday. BOY TIME FLIES!!!!!! Today we bought potty chairs for them, one each. I'm excited but scared at the same time. Potty training two little ones. Training my daughter was hard and there was just one of her. After dinner, we got the boys ready for bed and then we were sitting down watching Monsters Inc and we knew that we would need to change the diapers again soon so we decided to put them on their potty chairs. Peyton cried only because his tummy was hurting. They both sat there watching TV, Jake was looking at a book. Then 45 minutes later, they got up and both had went to the bathroom. Peyton went #2 and Jake #1. We are so proud. They both seem into it and want to sit on them when I tell them to try and go. It seems like a long process ahead of me but I think it will be a breeze.

April 10, 2010
The past couple of days have been rough. The boys haven't been feeling good. Jake was sick first with a runny nose and congestion. Peyton now has it but last night had a fever of 103.8. It scared me, neither one of them has ever had a fever that high before. I feel bad when they're sick and want to do anything to make them feel better. They both slept with us, especially since they were having trouble breathing. When kids are this young and can not tell you what hurts or what they want, It makes it really hard. So, you hold them, and do what you can to keep them happy.
Today so far, Peyton's fever is one but still congested, and Jake is starting to feel better.

Saying Goodnight
Every night is the same, Jake goes with daddy in our room and watches Star Trek - The Next Generation and falls asleep in there and Peyton falls asleep with me in the family room while I'm watching my shows . After he is asleep I carry him to his crib and then get Jake and put him in his crib so I can go to bed. Tonight, something different happened. When I went to get Jake, he woke up and pointed to the bed again (his way of saying he wants to sleep there). So I laid him back down on the bed next to daddy and covered him up. As I was walking out of the bedroom I looked back at him, He looked at me, blew me a kiss, then rolled over and closed his eyes. It made my heart melt.
It amazes me everytime the boys do something that either makes me laugh or puts tears in my eyes. Even if it is the littlest thing.

Easter 2010
It was the boys second Easter. They got new baseball bats with a ball, little footballs, and some new shoes (Converse, daddy is so proud). We went to grandmom's house for Easter. We were going to do an Easter egg hunt but is was pouring rain outside so they just played inside the house. It was a good day. I tried to take some pictures but the boys wouldn't sit still long enough so I just got a few photos. Next year, Easter will be even more fun, since they will be almost 3 and will be more into the easter egg hunts, seeing the Easter Bunny, (they still cry and were afraid of him this year).
Getting ready to go to grandmom's was the hardest. Packing to go somewhere with twins is hard unless you are just going for a couple of hours. You have to take double of everything. The high chairs, toys, some movies for them to watch, and extra clothes in case the ones they are wearing gets dirty. The truck was packed. The diaper bag is always full when we go somewhere. We plan on going on a couple of family vacations sometime this year for a few days. That is going to require ALOT more stuff to take.

April 4, 2010
Last night was hard. Peyton usually sleeps with us everynight, but since we only have a queen bed its hard because he kicks all night long. Jake sleeps in his own bed all night long and we sometimes feel that it is not fair to him. Along with all of that, Peyton is VERY attached to mommmy that it makes it hard for me to leave the room to do anything, if I want to stay up and watch a movie, play on the computer or even use the restroom. He will scream. We want him to learn to sleep in his own bed at night all night. So last night, I did what everyone is telling me to do. When he woke up like usual, I let him cry himself back to sleep. It lasted about 45 mins. But it worked. A few more nights of this and hopefully the crying will stop. We tried this a few months back, and it seemed like it started to work, but then we moved.
It is hard to hear you child cry and not go in to see what he/she wants, to hold them and comfort them. But when they are almost two and they know that crying will get them whatever they want, the comforting had to end......... to a certain extent. If it doesn't stop in less then a week, then we will try a TV in the room. They both like to fall asleep with their lava lamp and a disney movie on.
